It’s the last of the bye weeks for the season with the final two teams taking a week off. The Cardinals and Commanders are off for the week, so there’s no Trey McBride or Logan Thomas available this week. With 30 teams playing, there are plenty of players available and a few solid options available at the position. However, after those options the quality available thins out really fast. There are a few dart throws that could be worth taking a punt on, but there are a lot of red flags out there.
All of the options discussed in the article are rostered in less than 50% of Yahoo fantasy leagues. These suggestions are aimed at players in 10-12 team leagues. In shallower leagues there may be better available. In deeper leagues there’s a good chance some of these players will not be available for you.
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
Rostered in 35 % of Yahoo Leagues
Mark Andrews is likely done for the season with an ankle injury. So, Isaiah Likely is the new starting TE in Baltimore. In his first game as the starter Likely turned 6 targets into 40 scoreless yards. The Ravens have had the bye week to get Likely further worked into the game plan and with only Trey Flowers having a large receiving role there’s targets up for grabs.
Up next the Ravens face the Rams who have given up plenty of yards and a TD every other game to the position. The Rams are fresh off giving up 19 points to the Joe Flacco led Browns. Likely has a great chance of being the second option in Baltimore behind Zay Flowers. With Lamar Jackson passing so well this season, it’s a high value role to have. Isaiah should be a rock solid option this season and potentially an option for the rest of the season.
Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans
Rostered in 31 % of Yahoo Leagues
It’s been a poor fantasy season for Chig Okonkwo this season and a big disappointment for fantasy owners. He wasn’t helped by the QB situation early in the year as Ryan Tannehill looked poor and Will Levis has been inconsistent so far this season. However, Okonkwo has had 5+ targets in 3 of last 4 games. He’s yet to score a TD this season but he has gone for 45 and 62 yards in the last two games.
The Titans travel to Miami to play the Dolphins this week. We can expect a lot of passing attempts as they attempt to keep up with Tyreek Hill and co. If Okonkwo can maintain his share of the Titans’ targets, he should be able to do plenty with them. The Dolphins have given up 55 yards per game to the position on average, although they haven’t conceded a TD to the position since week 7. He’s as good an option as anyone streamer this weekend.
Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders
Rostered in 7 % of Yahoo Leagues
Before Week 13’s bye week, Michael Mayer was starting to build a solid role for himself in the Raiders offence. The rookie is now the clear starter over Austin Hooper and turned that into 5, 5 and 4 targets over the three weeks up to bye. He also had his first career TD in that run but topped out at 47 yards.
This week the Raiders play the Minnesota Vikings, a pretty middle of the road matchup for opposing Tight Ends. However, they have given up some solid yardage against the stronger players they’ve faced. In a weeks short on trustworthy option Michael Mayer is worth considering. Theres some hope for another 5+ targets and with Mayer’s athleticism there is some big play potential as well.
Other Options
In the second game as the starter Tucker Kraft (1%) was targeted 6 times by Jordan Love. With Love balling he should have a solid role going forward.
Gerald Everett (21%) caught four passes for 40 yards for the second game in a row. There isn’t much upside, but he might be the best you can do in deeper leagues.
Harrison Bryant (0%) seemed to be on the same page with Joe Flacco more than David Njoku. He’s a desperation dart throw this week.
Tyler Conklin’s (16%) role as a safety blanket is secure. It’s just not worth a lot of fantasy points.
