Beginning My Sorare Trading Journey

My goal on Sorare at the moment is to trade Limited cards to build up a collection that compete for Limited rewards. We started with a small budget of 0.0132 ETH. The aim is to look for cards that meet some or all of the below criteria;

  • Price: We’re looking to buy players with room to grow in their price, so player price needs to be either stagnant or in a slump
  • Upcoming Fixtures: Players with an easy run of games upcoming give the opportunity for spikes in scoring. That gives us a chance to sell for a quick profit
  • Injury History: Prices drop when players get injured, if we target players that are close to returning or have just returning from injury. We may be able to exploit this price drop as they return to form.
  • Players Set for Increased Gametime: Whether due to injury to a starter or a busy schedule increasing the chance of rotation. This is an opportunity to get regular back-ups and take advantage of price rises when they get good game time.
  • Team Strength: Targeting players on teams that dominate their domestic league increases our chances of getting decisive scores.

Whilst trading and building towards some strong teams, players that fit this criteria should allow us to play Underdog Limited tournaments and maybe even sneak a reward if the stars align.

First Trades

My first purchases were made last Friday targeting some players with strong match-ups in Gameweek #304. In total I spent 0.0114 ETH on three players all based in the K-League.

Kim Jin-Su, Defender, Jeonbuk (0.0070 ETH): Jeonbuk are one of the top sides in the K-League and look set for 2nd place in the league this season. Additionally, Jeonbuk played Daegu in GW #304 who have been poor all season.

After Jeonbuk demolished Daegu 5-0, and Jin-Su scoring 90.52 with one decisive action I cashed in at 0.0106 ETH for a solid profit – +0.0036 ETH

Maeng Seong-Un, Midfielder, Jeonbuk (0.0019 ETH): Another Jeonbuk player looking to take advantage of a strong team with a great match-up. Seong-Un was also on a slight dip in price.

Like Jin-Su a strong performance against Daegu resulted in a score of 78.20 (one decisive) and allowed me to cash in quickly at 0.0038 ETH – +0.0019 ETH

Kim Tae-Hwan, Midfielder, Ulsan (0.0025 ETH): Ulsan are the dominant team in the K-League and look nailed on to take the title. Tae-Hwan is a reasonably priced starter, based on past scores he has the potential to peak a lot higher in price.

Ulsan have had a slight drop in form in the games since I purchased with Tae-Hwan’s floor price sitting at 0.0026 ETH. I will continue to hold with a home game against mid-table Suwon coming up this weekend.

Spending the Profits

With the returns I have invested in 5 more players over this week. Let’s have a run through of who we have;

Jeong Woon, Defender, Jeju United (0.0026 ETH): Jeju played Daegu in Gameweek #305, and again I looked to target a great match-up. Jeong Woon has some great all round scores, with three scores above 60 in the last 7 with no decisive actions.

Jeju threw away a lead to draw 2-2 with Daegu and Jeong Woon had his first negative all round score in the last 8. His floor has dropped to 0.0021 ETH but with a solid game, I think a strong rebound is possible.

Jelle Bataille, Defender, Royal Antwerp (0.0050 ETH): Antwerp have been the cream of the crop in Belgium so far this season and they have a promising run of games including 4 bottom half teams in the next 5 games. Bataille had a drop in price after starting the past 3 games he was only the bench in their last game in favour of 33 year-old Ritchie De Laet.

During the game De Laet went off injured in the game getting Bataille back on to the pitch. Earlier this week Bataille’s price had not shifted back-up after the game, but it has now- current floor price 0.0074 ETH

Raphael Schifferl, Defender, Wolfsberger AC (0.0035 ETH): Wolfsberger play in the Austrian league and have started the season poorly despite qualifying for Europe last year. They were knocked out in the qualifying stages of the Europa Conference League and now have a chance to rebound domestically with games against two of the bottom three sides in their next 3 games.

Schifferl has shown he can post good scores even in losing efforts, with a rebound in the team form some strong performance could be on the cards – current floor price 0.0045 ETH

Konstantin Kirschbaumer, Midfielder, Wolfsberger AC (0.0010 ETH): Again I am looking to take advantage of some good fixtures for Wolfsberger. Kirschbaumer is a new signing from Germany and has only missed one Austrian Cup game despite a congested schedule – current floor price 0.0011 ETH

Djaniny Semedo, Forward, Trabzonspor (0.0016 ETH): Semedo was out injured in Trabzonspor’s last game, but named to their starting XI against Red Star Belgrade in Europe today. With him named in starting line-up against a much weaker side, I purchased before his price rose. I will hold through the weekend and see whether he remains in the starting line-up – current floor price 0.0028 ETH

Wrapping Up

I have 0.0025 ETH remaining currently, but I won’t be making any more trades before Gameweek #306 starts. I will be entering a team into Underdog Limited – check my Twitter https://twitter.com/ThinkingFantasy to see who made the cut.
