Over the last few days I’ve made a few additions to my Agency to get ready for Season 6. I managed to add a couple of packs from yesterday’s drop on top of spending the MFL I earned in Season 5 on some new players. However, the biggest addition to the Thinking Fantasy agency has been a second Spark club.
I wanted to add a new club to let me give the worse players in my Agency more game time and a better chance to develop . The Development Centre is an option as well, but my MFL balance isn’t huge and at the moment I’d rather focus on growing my Agency with reward packs for now. They might not have much chance of making the step up to the Motherwell Eagles, but it’ll be fun to see whether there is a diamond in the rough hiding in there. It will also add another source of MFL to help afford reward packs.

Rewards
After last season I had a balance of 1457 MFL to play with, a rather paltry amount in the grand scheme of things. It didn’t leave me with too many options, either one 50-54 common or two of the standard common packs. A 50-54 common player isn’t going to improve the starting XI for the Motherwell Eagles, so I’ve gone with adding the two players to help fill out a second squad.

The results aren’t spectacular, but Goalkeeper Sidnei Mariano is at least young (21) and I needed a fourth goalkeeper to fill out two squads for next season. If he can get a bit of progression early, maybe he could make it into the 50’s and be a reasonable option for a development team.
I have less optimism for Tobias Hassan. At 25 he’s likely to have less time to develop as well as having a lower chance of a big potential. At 43 overall, he’s not someone I’m overly keen on starting, and his passing is pretty shocking (39) for a central midfielder. On the plus side he is a really strong defender (59) so maybe I can find a role that makes the most of his talents.

Pack Drop
I did alright in the pack drop last night and managed to get my hands on two limited packs, as I was hoping for. I’ve opened up one pack so far and we’ll take a look at the players in a moment. I’m holding the second pack for now, I have listed it up on Flowty for well above the market floor at the moment. I’ll keep an eye on prices over the next couple of weeks and potentially drop in down to try and shift it.
In the Limited pack I opened I got Paraguayan CAM, Rodrigo Llanos, as my limited card. He’s a really well rounded player and is also 58 rated as a right midfielder. He slots straight into the Motherwell Eagles starting line-up as our RM. At 22 years old, he’s he should have a long career for my agency. Hopefully he can get some early progression and he can help the Eagles earn a promotion in future seasons.

For the common card I got an Englishman in Bob Woodward, at first glance a very uninspiring 43 rated LM. But stats wise it looks a little bit better, he has 68 pace and is actually 48 rated as a left winger. I’m not expecting huge things from Woodward, but at 23 he does have some time to progress. He should be able to contribute in a development team, possibly as a starter.
Introducing Tabasco Fire MFC

I was looking at adding a second club via the current offer that includes a license and a starter pack. However, looking at the market, existing Spark clubs are available at $65 or less. This seems a better value deal for me as it left enough money to get a Limited pack and guarantee a new Limited card for my Agency. I want to make sure when I spend on players I have a chance to improve the Motherwell Eagles first and build towards a promotion push and I’d need to hit a rarity upgrade in a starter pack to get that. When I do add players to the Eagles, the players that are no longer needed can then trickle down to Tabasco.
I ended up going with a Mexican club based in Villahermosa, the capital of the state of Tabasco. The tabasco peppers are named after the state of Tabasco and with that in mind the team name seemed like a pretty obvious choice. The logo has some tabasco looking peppers on it and I went with a green and red colour scheme much like Tabasco Sauce (although that’s American, not Mexican).
The long term aim is to fill the club entirely with my own players to give them space to develop. For now, I only have 12 players left over after building the Motherwell Eagles’ squad, so it’s off to the loan market. I’ll be aiming for common cards with no guaranteed revenue share. With some good planning and careful management across the season, I should be able to fill the squad and ensure I don’t trigger any games played causes. I’d like to keep all my MFL if possible to let me fill the squad with reward cards as quickly as possible.
On the field it’s unlikely to be a successful season in the league. With a team full of commons we’ll be in the bottom third of the league in overall at very best this season. So, we’ll obviously be targeting the IMFF Cup to earn as much MFL as possible for the season. Beyond that, I also want to try out a different formation to the Eagles this season, it would be nice to try something new and it will let me use some players that don’t really have a place in the formations I’m using . I’m leaning towards a 4-3-3 (Def) at the moment to make the most out of the central midfielders and wide forwards I have in my Agency.
