NFL DFS Week 10 Recap

This week we entered one line-up into a Bet365 Sunday Redzone competition with a Cowboys stack. Let’s see how it got on!

There were very few bright spots for me this week as my picks bombed almost across the board. The Cowboys stack of Prescott and Schultz did have some reasonable results. In particular, Dalton Schultz scored the TD we were looking for in addition to a very respectable 6 catches for 54 yards.

Dak Prescott had a solid, if unspectacular, fantasy performance. We were hoping to see some of his rushing upside, but he managed just 6 yards this week. There was a couple of interceptions which seemed to come with some confusion between him and his receivers didn’t help matters.

I took Allen Lazard from Green Bay against the Cowboys, but Christian Watson stole the show catching all 3 of Aaron Rodgers’ touchdown passes and over 100 yards. Lazard did catch 3 of his 4 targets for 45 yards.

Tyreek Hill had a down week by his standards this week having his lowest numbers in targets, catches and yards since week 3 against the Bills. He did manage to grab a touchdown to end on a reasonable 15.40 points.

The rest of my wide receivers did not perform as we’d hoped. Chris Olave came close on a couple of deep shots but couldn’t connect, leaving him with just 40 yards on 3 receptions. Chase Claypool was a huge disappointment, I was expecting an increase in snaps after more time on the pitch. However, his snap count dropped from 26 to 19 and he earned just 2 targets.

James Conner was the one star of the line-up. Without Kyler Murray , Conner was the focal point of the Cardinals offence playing 96% of snaps and earning 21 carries. He was inefficient, going for only 69 yards but he scored 2 touchdowns and ended with one of the top RB scores of the week.

Facing the Chiefs, it looked like there would be plenty of opportunities for Travis Etienne in the passing game. He caught all 3 of his targets, including a nice 24 yard gain. But between an inefficient showing on the ground (11 carries for 45 yards) and no touchdowns in wasn’t the day we were expecting.

The Cardinals Defence got a match-up against John Wolford with Matt Stafford out with a concussion. They did manage 3 sacks and a couple of turnovers, but unfortunately they could take one to the house to make a monster score.

Overall, the team earned 110.20 points finishing in an awful 1299th out of 1463 entries. A whopping 54.28 points away from the money.

Final Thoughts

Looking at the line-up we had a lot of players with low ownership potentials with over half the team in the single digits. We need some of these plays to give us a shot at winning the top prizes, but this week maybe we went too far with too many long shots. Perhaps taking a higher quality stack with some of these players is a better way to a payout.

We’ll return later in the week to cover some early thoughts on the Week 9 schedule. To make sure you see when the post goes live follow me on twitter @ThinkingFantasy
