NFL DFS Week 9 Early Thoughts

I’m back to go through my favourite plays in the Bet365 Sunday Redzone competition. Teams consist of 9 players (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DST) with a total budget of 135M, giving an average per player of 15M. My plays will generally lean towards the cheaper side to allow some stud players to be fitted into a line-up as well.

Quarterbacks
  • Trevor Lawrence (16.8M) – Trevor Lawrence did not play well in London last week, throwing 2 interceptions and just 133 yards. This week he gets the Las Vegas Raiders who are giving up the most fantasy points to QBs in the league. Playing back at home, I think Lawrence will bounce back this week.
Running Backs
  • AJ Dillon (9.8M) – Dillon remains the clear number two to Aaron Jones in Green Bay this year, but he has had 10+ carries in 6 of 8 games this season. This week the Packers face a Lions defense giving up the most rushing TDs and third most rushing yards to running backs this season. Despite the presence of Jones, there should be plenty of work to go around this week.
  • Jamaal Williams (11.2M) – Even though he lead the Lions backfield last week, Williams comes in 3.2M cheaper than D’Andre Swift. Swift looks like he’s going to be playing banged up for the foreseeable future, so expect Williams to lead the backfield again this week. The match-up against a Packers defense giving up over 100 yards per game on the ground is also solid.
Wide Receivers
  • Joshua Palmer (11.1M) – Mike Williams is already declared out for this week and Keenan Allen is trending towards missing the game as well. Palmer will be the de facto WR1 for the Chargers facing a terrible Atlanta Falcons defense – the volume will be there!
  • Garrett Wilson (10.7M) – In his first game without Breece Hall, Zach Wilson threw a season high 41 passes against the Patriots. Garrett Wilson managed to snag 6 of 7 for 115 yards, to produce his best week since Joe Flacco was playing QB. This week the passing volume should remain high with the Jets looking set to fall behind early to the Bills.
  • Terry McLaurin (12.7M) – Since Taylor Heinicke took over as the starting QB for the Commanders, McLaurin has average 93 yards per game. The Vikings defense is allowing almost 200 yards to opposing wide receivers.
Tight Ends
  • Gerald Everett (10.9M) – As we mentioned earlier, there are plenty of targets up for grabs in the Chargers offense this week. Everett is one of the higher priced tight-ends this week, but he should be worth it in a great match-up.
Defence/Special Teams

For the most part the defences seem pretty fairly priced this week. My favourite pick this week is the Colts (7.5M) who face the New England Patriots this week. Whilst the Colts haven’t been particularly prolific a defense this season, New England are leading the lead in turnovers given away this season. For the price there is some solid potential here.
