I’m back to go through my favourite plays in the Bet365 Sunday Redzone competition. This competition covers the 1 pm EST Sunday games only. Teams consist of 9 players (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DST) with a total budget of 135M, giving an average per player of 15M. My plays will generally lean towards the cheaper side to allow some stud players to be fitted into a line-up as well.
Quarterbacks
- Dak Prescott (14.2M) – Dak has said he will start this week for the first time since injuring his foot in week 1. The Cowboys might try to ease him back into action with a focus on the run, but the Lions have put points on the board in most games this season (the goose-egg against the Patriots being the only exception) and could force Dak to cut loose. At his price point (3M less than Goff!), Dak is definitely a value play.
Running Backs
- Dameon Pierce (13.4M) – Pierce is the clear lead back in Houston, being spelled only on third down by Rex Burkhead. Even if the Texans aren’t a high scoring offense, this price is just too low for a player likely to get 20+ carries plus any and all redzone work for the Texans.
- Rachaad White (7.4M) – The Buccaneers are huge favourites at the woeful Panthers, and look likely to be in a situation to run a lot of clock in the second half. Leonard Fournette (18.4M) is certain to get plenty of work, but Rachaad White could also benefit with some late game carries to put the game to bed.
Wide Receivers
- Alec Pierce (10.0M) – I had Alec Pierce in my column last week, after catching 3 passes for 49 yards on 7 targets and a TD his price has gone up by 1M. He is earning a solid number of targets over the last few weeks and gets a great match-up against a Titans defense allowing over 200 yards per game to wide receivers.
- Michael Gallup (9.4M) – The return of Dak will benefit the Cowboys pass catchers as well. While CeeDee Lamb will be the target leader, Gallup has a route to a strong game against the terrible Lions defense. With Dalton Schultz struggling with injuries, there is definitely targets up for grabs.
Tight Ends
- Cade Otton (6.4M) – Cameron Brate has yet to practice this week after leaving the Buccaneers Week 6 game on a back board – it’s looking highly unlikely he will return this week. In week 5, with Brate out with a concussion, Cade Orton caught 6 of 7 for 46 yards – on the downside if the Bucs get up early there may not be much passing volume to go round.
- Daniel Bellinger (9.2M) – The rookie tight-end is running plenty of routes for the Giants and his target numbers are showing some promise as well. He has as good a shot as any of earning a touchdown this week against the Jaguars.
Defence/Special Teams
The obvious value defense this week is the Jets (8.3M) facing off against a Broncos offense that can’t seem to get on the same page. The Jets have quietly put together a solid defense this season and did a great job of shutting down another misfiring offense in Green Bay last week.
