NFL DFS Week 6 Early Thoughts

I’m back to go through my favourite plays in the Bet365 Sunday Redzone competition. This competition covers the 1 pm EST Sunday games only. Teams consist of 9 players (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DST) with a total budget of 135M, giving an average per player of 15M. My plays will generally lean towards the cheaper side to allow some stud players to be fitted into a line-up as well.

My recap of Week 5 has been delayed a little due to work commitments, but it will be up tomorrow!

Quarterbacks

This week is very top heavy at QB, there isn’t a lot of lower cost value picks I like this week. My favourite plays are Joe Burrow (18.6M), who I like to bounce-back after losing to the Ravens, and Kirk Cousins (17.9M) who gets a great match-up against the Dolphins defense giving up the 5th most passing yards per game.

Running Backs
  • Raheem Mostert (13.8M) – Mostert missed practice to start the week, but has declared himself good to go against the Vikings this week. With third-string rookie Skylar Thompson set for his first career start, the Dolphins should run the ball early and often. Chase Edmonds got only 1 touch in week 5, so Mostert looks set to have no competition for carries.
  • Tyrion Davis-Price (4.3M) – Davis-Price had 14 carries for the 49ers in week 2 before suffering an ankle injury. He was a full participant in Wednesdays practice and will likely return this week. The 49ers get a potential blow-out this week against the woeful Atlanta Falcons, so there should be plenty of opportunities to go around.
Wide Receivers
  • Darius Slayton (6.5M) and Wan’dale Robinson (4.5M) – The Giants receivers get a great match this week against the Ravens. With injuries to Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney likely to keep them out of the line-up Slayton and Robinson have some serious upside this week. Slayton may be the safer option after getting 7 targets last week, but rookie Wan’dale Robinson has intriguing potential at his price point.
  • Alec Pierce (9.0M) – Alec Pierce has established himself as the clear WR2 in the Colts offense, seeing his targets increase week on week over the last three games. With deep-threat potential, he has high-upside in a home game against the Jaguars.
Tight Ends

There are few interesting tight ends this week including a gamble on Taysom Hill replicating last weeks monster performance. But my favourite play is David Njoku (10.3M) playing against the Patriots. Njoku has had 20 receptions over the last 3 weeks and faces a defense giving up a touchdown per game to tight ends.

Defence/Special Teams

My favourite defense this week is the Vikings (8.5M) facing off against Skylar Thompson in his first career start for the Dolphins. Last week Thompson had 2 turnovers and threw for 166 score-less yards against an unthreatening Jets defense – bank on more turnovers again this week.
