I’m back to go through my favourite plays in the Bet365 Sunday Redzone competition. This competition covers the 1 pm EST Sunday games only. Teams consist of 9 players (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DST) with a total budget of 135M, giving an average per player of 15M. My plays will generally lean towards the cheaper side to allow some stud players to be fitted into a line-up as well.
Quarterbacks
- Carson Wentz (15.7M) – After a solid start, Carson Wentz has had a couple of poor games against division rivals with strong defenses. Despite that he has attempted at least 41 passes in each game and faces a Titans defense that is tied for the most passing TDs allowed to start the season.
- Andy Dalton (10.8M) – Jameis Winston looks set to miss another game for the Saints with fractures in his back, giving Andy Dalton his second start of the season. Dalton wasn’t great against the Vikings in London, but this week he gets a Seahawks defense that got shredded by the Lions last week – Dalton is definitely underpriced this week! Having said that, this is certainly a longer shot option, but one that would allow a line-up with multiple of the top priced players.
Running Backs
- James Robinson (13.8M) – James Robinson has had a great start to the year despite the pre-season hype on Travis Etienne. This week he get’s a home match-up against the Texans and their league worst run defense.
- Damien Harris (13.3M) and Rhamondre Stevenson (13.0M) – Both Patriots backs have been productive this season with Damien Harris racking up TDs and Stevenson racking up touches. This week they face the Detroit Lions who’s run defense is almost as bad as the Texans.
Wide Receivers
- George Pickens (8.2M) – George Pickens showed a promising connection with Kenny Pickett last week. Pickens was targeted on over 30% of Pickett’s passes and went for over 100 yards against the New York Jets. This weeks match-up against the Bills is much tougher however, but with a full week to practise together I’m betting on Pickett-Pickens connection to grow!
- Terry McLaurin (12.1M) – Scary Terry has been anything but to start the season. Carson Wentz has been more interested in check downs to Curtis Samuel than pushing the ball downfield to McLaurin. However, with Jahan Dotson looking set to miss this week with a hamstring injury and Curtis Samuel missing practice time due to illness this is as good a breakout spot as any.
Tight Ends
The tight-end field this week is not particularly inspiring this week but Will Dissly (8.8M) is one option I like. Dissly has scored touchdowns in three of four weeks to start the season. With DK Metcalf likely to be shadowed by Marshon Lattimore this week, Dissly is as good an option as anyone to score again this week.
Defence/Special Teams
The defenses in general are priced well this season, but the one value pick I like is the Jaguars (8.9M). The Jaguars have been solid to start the season, scoring 9+ in three of four games this season. This week they get the Houston Texans who have been uninspiring to say the least.
