NFL DFS 2022 Week 3

Earlier this week I recapped last weeks results (spoiler alert: we didn’t cash) and shared my top plays for this weeks Bet365 Sunday Redzone competition, check it out here. This week I have two line-ups I want to run through, one I think is a solid all-round team and a second more contrarian team that I think could place highly if it all comes together.

Line-up 1

First up is an Eagles stack with Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. Hurts has been lights out to start the season and gets a nice match-up against the Commanders. In addition to strong performances in the passing game, Hurts isn’t afraid to call his own number in the run game – especially in the Redzone.

Brown is the only receiver I considered as the clear number one in the passing game. I’ve chosen to run it back with Curtis Samuel, he has quickly established himself as a favourite of Carson Wentz with 15 receptions over two games.

The Bengals have struggled to start the season, but I like them to rebound this week against the Jets. Jamar Chase is the obvious option and is the best bet for a monster game. I also like Hayden Hurst as a Tight End, he has had 5 receptions in both games this season.

I have rounded out the Wide Receivers with Gabe Davis in Buffalo, who is good to go by his own account. He had a solid Week 1 before missing last week with an ankle injury. This week he returns to face a Dolphins team that was torched by Lamar Jackson last week.

At Running Back, David Montgomery is going to get great volume for as long as the Bears do their best to avoid Justin Fields throwing the ball. On top of that, the Texans run defense has been putrid so far this season. Jonathan Taylor is a riskier option given how the game script could get out of hand against the Chiefs, but he has the potential for a monster game.

Finally, I’ve going back to the Saints DST that burned me last week. The Carolina offense hasn’t got going with Baker Mayfield at the wheel this season and I think they could struggle again against a solid Saints team.

The Contrarian Option

We’re swinging for the fences in this line-up with a Colts stack – that’s right, the same Colts team that laid a goose-egg against Jacksonville of all teams.

Hear me out, Michael Pittman is good to go this week and Matt Ryan is going to have to throw to keep up with the Chiefs. The Chiefs are giving up a ton of catches to running backs, so there could be plenty of opportunities for Nyheim Hines.

This is definitely a low percentage play, but if it hits the potential for a high placing is there. Matt Ryan in particular will certainly have a single digit ownership potential.

I’ve ran this back with Travis Kelce as our Tight End. He’s the clearly top receiving option in the Chiefs option and should have a great chance of a big game this week.

After the cheap Colts stack I have been able to fill out the rest of the roster with some studs. Stefon Diggs always has big game potential with Josh Allen throwing the ball and, as mentioned above, the Dolphins have struggled against the pass.

Amon-Ra St Brown is a favourite target of Jared Goff, in the surprisingly high scoring Lions offense. His great volume should continue against the Vikings this week. Terry McClaurin rounds out the receivers, his volume has dropped a little this season, but he has been getting downfield targets in the Commanders offense.

Dalvin Cook gets a smash match-up against the Lions. Detroit have been shredded on the ground so far this season and haven’t faced a back on Cook’s level.

Finally, the Bears DST gets a nice match-up against a Texans team that has struggled to score this season.
