NFL DFS 2022 Week 2

Today, I will run you through my NFL DFS team for week 2. I am playing on Bet365 who have just introduced Fantasy Sports. The tournament covers all Sunday games with the exception of Sunday Night Football. A team consists of;

  • 1 Quarterback
  • 2 Running Backs
  • 3 Wide Receivers
  • 1 Tight End
  • 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
  • 1 Defense
Selecting a Stack

By stacking a Quarterback with one or two of their receivers, we can increase the likelihood of multiple players scoring well on the same day – if a QB is going to have a big day, chances are some of his receivers will too.

With that in mind, we are looking to identify a game with shoot-out potential to select a QB and receiver stack. There are two games that jump out this week; Dolphins @ Ravens and Cardinals @ Raiders.

Of those teams the Raiders stand out based on how bad the Cardinals defence looked in Week 1. Alongside Derek Carr at QB, Davante Adams is a no brainer after accounting for 50% of the teams targets in Week 1. I am also going to add Darren Waller at Tight End – Waller had a solid 6 targets last week whilst the Cardinals were shredded by Travis Kelce for 121 yards and a TD.

Filling out the Wide Receivers

For the remaining Wide Receivers, I want to take at least one option from the Cardinals – if the Raiders stack does score big the Cardinals will most likely need to throw a lot to keep up. Greg Dortch stepped up big last week in the absence of Deandre Hopkins and he comes in at a lower price than Hollywood Brown.

After identify the Dolphins game as one with shoot-out potential, Tyreek Hill is an obvious choice to play at WR given the Ravens’ questions at cornerback. In his first week on his new team, the Cheetah got an impressive 12 target from Tua.

I am also going to use the flex position to take a 4th WR, in a 1 PPR scoring the value definitely leans away from a taking a 3rd RB. Continuing the theme of targeting the players with high volume roles, I am going with Jarvis Landry. In his first week with the Saints, Landry showed a great connection with Jameis Winston earning 9 targets.

Running Backs and Defense

Finally, it’s time to select the Running Backs and Defense. For the first Running Back I wanted to add one of the elite options in the player pool. I went with Christian McCaffrey over Jonathan Taylor given his added threat in the passing game. Also, the matchup against the Giants is great, after they allowed 2 TDs to RB Dontrell Hilliard in Week 1.

Next up, I went with Bengals running back Joe Mixon who gets a nice matchup at home to the Cowboys. With Dak injured this could be a bloodbath and give the Bengals plenty of opportunities to feed Mixon the ball.

To round out the team, I’ve taken the Saints defense up against the Bucs. Tom Brady isn’t usually a match-up to target, but since joining the Bucs he has lost all 4 regular season games he has played against the Saints. Wide receiver Chris Godwin also misses this game with a hamstring injury.

So there we go, my Sunday line-up for Week 2. If you’ve got any thoughts on the line-up or DFS in general, hit me up on twitter @ThinkingFantasy. Check back in next week to see how the line-up did.
